Do It Your Self (DIY) Window Cleaning Tips
Tip 1: Always use right cleaning tools such as professional squeegees (12 to 18 inch), soap and applicators to get desired results.
Tip 2: Before starting the job make sure that your applicator either it is scrubber, wool lamb or sponge is neat and clean.
Tip 3: To prevent streaks on windows, use a squeegee on a long handle. Make sure to hold the squeegee at an angle so the water runs down the glass.
Tip 4: To pinpoint which side of the window has a streak, use one side of a window with horizontal strokes and the other side with vertical strokes.
Tip 5: While using squeegee it is good to overlap squeegee strokes by about one and one half inches to cover the full glass.
Tip 6: It is good to wipe the entire window edge with the lint, after all squeegee action is complete. It will help to remove the watermarks or sports at the edges of the window pane.
Tip 7: Use a soft toothbrush or cotton swab to clean the corners of windows.
Tip 8: Use a liberal amount of cleaning water.
Tip 9: Use toothpaste to eliminate tiny scratches on glass by polishing the affected areas.
Tip 10: Avoid washing windows in direct sunlight. The sun can superheat the glass and cause streaking problems.
Tip 11: To give an extra shine to window glass, rub a clean blackboard eraser over a freshly washed and dried window.
Tip 12: Polish windows with crumpled newspaper to leave a film that will act as a dirt resistant.
